LINCOLN -- The University of Nebraska really wants to build a new College of Nursing division in Lincoln. Up to 60% of qualified applicants are turned away each year. NU President J.B. Milliken and Board of Regent's chair Tim Clare testified before the Legislature's Appropriations Committee in support of the University's biennial budget request. They emphasized that in Nebraska, 2/3 of all jobs in coming years will require postsecondary education, ranking the state 7th in the country in demand for college-educated workers.
