A legislative committee has set the stage for a battle over Medicaid. The bill expands eligibility to people with incomes up to 138% of the poverty level...a key, but voluntary part of new Obama Care Program. Governor Heineman is firmly against the idea...saying it would be too expensive and take money away from other state priorities. Supporters say it's needed to help people in Nebraska who don't have medical insurance...and that it will save money in the long run. The bill will next be debated by the full legislature.
