Janssen Will Run For Governor

Monday was a significant day in Nebraska politics. A state senator announced he's running for governor and a U.S. Senator announced he's retiring. Fremont Senator Charlie Janssen made the official announcement yesterday (Monday). He's running for governor in 2014 to help keep Nebraska's conservative values alive. The 42 year old Republican says, as governor, he would work to limit government and grow the business sector. Senator Janssen is known for his strong opposition to illegal immigration. He also has introduced guns-rights bills this year and is trying to end state-funded prenatal care coverage for illegal immigrants. He says his decision to run was not swayed by former Lt. Gov. Rick Sheehy's recent exit from the 2014 race.
