Police Make Vandalism Arrest

Lincoln Police believe they have the person who spray-painted graffiti in the Near South neighborhood and parts of downtown, including the Abraham Lincoln statue in front of the Hall of Justice. Officer Katie Flood says surveillance video from the County-City Building showed 21-year-old Jonathan Anania walking from a convenience store across the street up to the Lincoln statue. Flood says officers working speeding enforcement at 10th and Rose saw a man fitting Anania's description and recognized the backpack he was wearing. They found 5 cans of spray paint fitting the same colors used with the graffiti. Anania was taken in for questioning and arrested for 21 counts of vandalism.
