An arrest has been made in connection with a stabbing and shooting incident which occurred in the early morning hours of December 26^th at the Welfare Social Hall near 10^th and Claremont. 19-year-old Ater Mapieu of Pleasant Dale, Nebraska was arrested Friday afternoon on charges of 1^st Degree Assault and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony after he was identified by one of the victims as the attacker. Authorities say a three-foot, katana-style sword was used in the stabbing. Mapieu remains in jail. The investigation continues.
