Omaha Driver Given Sentenced After Passenger Dies in Crash
A driver involved in a crash that killed her pregnant passenger in Omaha last April has been sentenced to 60 days in jail and a year of probation. 27-year-old Tamika Brown was sentenced Thursday in Douglas County for motor vehicle homicide and motor vehicular homicide of an unborn child. The misdemeanors were punishable by up to year in jail. Brown was on her way to the hospital with her children and their baby sitter to see her son who had been hit by an SUV about an hour earlier. Authorities say Brown ran a stop sign and hit a van. Brown's passenger, 27-year-old Delaine Harris, who was pregnant, was killed.
