Parts Of North-Central Nebraska On Fire



Parts of north-central Nebraska are on fire this morning (Thursday). Cherry, Holt and Fillmore Counties are burning. The largest is in Cherry County; a 15-mile-long, 5-mile-wide fire, which started in South Dakota. It's about 8 miles from Valentine. The fire has already burned 3,000 acres in South Dakota. At least 25 fire departments are fighting the blaze near Crookston, northwest of Valentine.
