A 49-year-old North Platte woman accused of stabbing her husband made a plea deal. Elizabeth Cardenas was convicted after pleading guilty in Lincoln County District Court Monday. The charge had been lowered to attempted second-degree assault. Another charge of witness tampering was dropped. Prosecutors say Cardenas stabbed her husband in the back on July 16. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries. She will be sentenced Dec. 12.
