Valentine Woman Guilty Of Embezzling From Native American Study
A woman from Valentine has pleaded guilty to embezzling from a Native American casino. 36-year-old Michelle Carrier pleaded guilty to charges of wire fraud and theft. Prosecutors say Carrier embezzled money while the payroll clerk at the Rosebud Casino from February 2008 to June 2009. She faces 20 years in custody and a $250,000 fine for the wire fraud charge, plus an additional 10 years in prison and another $250,000 fine for theft from a gaming establishment on Indian lands. Sentencing is set for Jan. 3.
