From suffering severe burns in a land-mine explosion in Iraq to "Dancing with the Stars" and "All My Children," J.R. Martinez has come a long way. The soldier turned actor and motivational speaker will come to Lincoln in 2 weeks for the Nebraska Hospital Association Annual Convention October 17th through 19th. Martinez will visit burn victims in the St. Elizabeth Burn Center and meet volunteers of a new peer support program St. E's is launching, Survivors Offering Assistance in Recovery, or SOAR. SOAR is designed to offer burn patients and their family support as they adapt to a burn injury.
