LES Rates to Increase Less Than Originally Planned

Your electricity rates could be going up 2 1/2%, but it might have been worse. Originally, a 4% increase was proposed. Lincoln Electric System tweaked its numbers and lowered the proposed increase to your electricity bill. LES is proposing a $326 million budget for next year, which would increase the average customer's bill by about $2.43 a month. A public opinion hearing will be held Tuesday night, Oct. 23 at the Walter Canney Service Center, 2620 Fairfield St. LES's last rate increase was 3 1/2% Jan. 1st.
