A 29-year-old Omaha man on a 48 hour furlough from the Lincoln Correctional Center was shot dead by Omaha Police. The World Herald reports that correctional officials said Jermaine Lucas was on his 11th weekend furlough when he was confronted by Omaha police early yesterday (Sunday) morning. Lucas allegedly lunged for a gun on the street and was shot by 2 officers. Lucas is believed to be a member of the 29th Street Omaha Bloods.
