Thieves Target Copper at Omaha Church...Again
For the third time this year, thieves have stolen copper downspouts from an Omaha church. Officials with First Christian Church say thieves made off with more than $2,000 worth of downspouts 2 weeks ago. Almost $5,000 worth of downspouts were taken on two occasions in early July. The church has insurance to replace the downspouts, but they won't be copper. They'll be made from another product with no scrap value. Copper gutters at three other churches were stolen in May and at three more in June.
