LINCOLN -- Lincoln Police are asking for you help in tracking down a 31-year-old man who escaped from the Community Corrections Center early Tuesday morning. Sgt. Jeri Roeder says James Bannister left the facility in the 2700 block of West Van Dorn, apparently taking a job seeking pass with him. Roeder says surveillance video shows 31-year-old James Bannister walking into Big Red Keno at 955 West "O" Street and the Surplus Center next door around 12:30pm Tuesday. He apparently had applied for jobs at both places. Roeder says Bannister was seen on video getting into an unlocked tan 2000 Chevy Impala with the keys inside and drove off. The Impala has a Nebraska license plate number is R-R-Z-7-0-4. Bannister is described as a white man, 6-0, 210 pounds with brown hair and eyes, last seen wearing a red short-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and carrying a gray sweatshirt.
