Killers' Brandon Flowers Says There's "Something Special" About "Runaways"

Island RecordsEarlier this month, The Killers released a stream of "Runaways," the first single from the band's upcoming fourth studio album, Battle Born. Frontman Brandon Flowers says he knew that “Runaways” was the best possible choice to be the lead single.

''I had a good feeling about it," Flowers tells Billboard.com. "When I heard that march that catapults the song forward, I knew there was something special about it."

Flowers added that fans shouldn’t expect the entire album to sound like “Runaways,” as the band explores some new creative avenues on the upcoming release. "[‘Runaways’ is] a great starting point, but there are more styles [on Battle Born] as well," he says. "This album is going down a few different roads, and you really get a taste of what we like as a band and what we think our strengths are."

Battle Born is set to be released on September 18.
