KFOR Nominated for Legendary Station Marconi Award
The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) announced the finalists for the 2012 NAB Marconi Radio Awards this morning. The annual awards honor radio stations and on-air personalities for their excellence in broadcasting. KFOR is one of five stations nominated for the Marconi Award for Legendary Station. Named in honor of inventor and Nobel Prize winner Guglielmo Marconi, the NAB established the annual Marconi Radio Awards in 1989. The awards are currently handed out in 21 categories, each recognizing stations and individuals for their excellence and performance in radio for the year prior.

The winners will be announced on September 20th at the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show, starting at 6:00pm. That ceremony will be part of the NAB & RAB 2012 Radio Show, taking place at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, TX on September 19-21.
