Frontman Aaron Lewis Announces Staind Hiatus; Assures Fans That Band Is "Not Breaking Up"

Facebook.com/AaronLewisMusicStaind frontman Aaron Lewis has revealed that the band will be going on hiatus after they finish touring next year. The singer assures fans that the upcoming time off is just a “little break” and that they shouldn’t worry about the band calling it quits.

“We're not breaking up,” Lewis tells Billboard.com. “We're not gonna stop making music. We're just going to take a little hiatus that really hasn't ever been taken in our career. We put out seven records in 14 years. We've been pretty busy."

Lewis added that Staind, which recently completed their record deal with Atlantic Records, will use their hiatus to decide what their next move will be. "I think it would take a ridiculous, ridiculous check for me to be willing to sign a label deal again, but there's many other ways to do it,” reveals Lewis. “Everything is changing so much; every time you close your eyes and then open them again, the business has changed a little bit. So we'll see when we get there what we're gonna do."

In other Staind news, the band hits the road next month with Papa Roach, Godsmack, Shinedown and P.O.D. for the third annual Rockstar Uproar Festival.  That outing kicks off on August 17 at Capitol Federal Park at Sandstone in Kansas City, MO.
