Coheed and Cambria's "Armory Wars" to Become a Movie?

Boom! StudiosCoheed and Cambria lead singer Claudio Sanchez originally created his Armory Wars story to serve as the backdrop for the band’s series of concept albums, and he later expanded the sci-fi saga into comic books and graphic novels.  Now Variety reports Mark Wahlberg and his producing partner, Steven Levinson, have picked up the rights to develop the tale into a live-action feature film.

The series tells the story of a superhuman dictator and a family that could hold the key to liberating the world from his rule.  The story was also adapted into the novel Year of the Black Rainbow, which was also the title of Coheed and Cambria's 2010 album.

Coheed and Cambria begin a North American tour with Iron Maiden July 24.  The band is scheduled to release a new studio album this fall.
