Facebook.com/TravisBarkerOfficialBlink-182’s Travis Barker says that he won’t be able to take part in the band’s upcoming tour of Australia scheduled for early next year. The drummer, who developed a fear of flying as a result of the plane crash he barely survived in the fall of 2008, says that he can’t deal with taking a 24-hour flight to Australia.
"It's hard to say what the band could do or what its potential is, because I can’t really get everywhere," Barker tells Red Bulletin. “I want to overcome that [fear] eventually. My kids are scared to death to fly. I want them to witness me overcome it."
Blink-182 has yet to announce who will be filling in for Barker on the band’s 2013 Australian tour.
