Kevin Mazur/WireImagePearl Jam fan Brian Farias is a very lucky guy. He was chosen by the band’s fan club, Ten Club, to be flown to Amsterdam, meet the band and create the setlist for their June 27 concert in Amsterdam.
"I thought I was hearing things when [frontman] Eddie [Vedder] offered it to me," Farias tells Rolling Stone.
Farias explains that he went through “40 or 50 drafts” before creating the final list of songs for the concert. He added that while the band didn’t play every song he wanted, they did perform “90 to 95 percent of his requests.” Farias’ setlist included deep cuts and rarities like “Alone,” “Bugs” and Mother Love Bone’s “Crown of Thorns” as well as the classic Peal Jam hits “Alive” and “Daughter.”
At the end of the concert, Farias joined the band onstage to take a bow in front of the crowd. "The bow meant more to me than everything," says Farias. "For the Pearl Jam audience to give me that much love, I can't imagine what Eddie feels."
