Foo Fighters' Cover-Band Alter Ego, Chevy Metal, Posts Bowie Cover Online

RCA RecordsBack in 1993, Dave Grohl covered David Bowie’s “The Man Who Sold the World” with Nirvana during the band’s MTV Unplugged special. Now, members of his current band have tackled another track from the legendary singer.

Chevy Metal, the cover-band alter ego of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins and guitarist Chris Shiflett, recently posted online their version of Bowie’s “Width of a Circle,” from his 1970 album, The Man Who Sold the World.

You may remember that Chevy Metal had a high-profile gig recently, performing with Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger after his stint hosting the season finale of the 37th season of NBC’s Saturday Night Live. The band, along with Jagger and several former and current SNL cast members, performed renditions of classic rock songs during the sketch comedy show cast’s afterparty held in New York City's Rockefeller Plaza.
