"Duets" Recap: Contestants Perform Songs from the Current Millennium

ABCOn Thursday's episode of ABC's Duets, the five remaining contestants tackled songs from the current millennium.

The broadcast began with all four mentors -- Robin Thicke, Jennifer Nettles, John Legend and a newly-blonde Kelly Clarkson -- singing the George Michael hit "Freedom."

Here’s a rundown of the performances:

-- Jennifer and the bespectacled John Glosson covered Josh Groban's "When You Say You Love Me." Kelly said she wasn't surprised that John put in an amazing rendition of the song. Robin referred to him as "Georgia Bocelli," in a nod to John's home state. John Legend cautioned that the performance sounded "syrupy."

-- Robin partnered with Olivia Chisholm on Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now." John enjoyed the melding of country and R&B. Kelly thought it was pretty pitchy, but Jennifer complimented the song choice.

-- Kelly and Jason Farol teamed up on the Duffy hit "Mercy." Jennifer encouraged teen girls to vote for Jason. Robin quipped that he couldn't take his eyes off Kelly. John noted that Jason appeared to have a lot of fun on stage.

-- John and Bridget Carrington duetted on Beyonce's "Halo." Robin said the performance sounded better as it progressed. Jennifer praised Bridget for reaching the high notes, and Kelly told her she was amazing.

-- Jennifer and J. Rome closed the show with Usher's "Without You." John said Rome delivered a professional performance. Robin liked it too, and Kelly tossed her high-heel shoe at Rome out of respect.

Viewers can vote through Friday night. Duets returns on ABC next Thursday.
