A 24-year-old man is being treated for several fractures and other broken bones, after he was attacked by a 21-year-old passenger in another vehicle following a Monday morning crash near 18th and Superior. Police Officer Katie Flood says one of the passengers in the woman's car, Adrian Phillips, got out of the car and started punching the victim. The victim's injuries were bad enough to require surgery to fix a left jaw fracture, an orbital fracture and a broken left ankle. Phillips suffered minor injuries to his right hand during the fight. He was put in jail for 1st-degree assault and providing false information. Flood says Phillips claimed that another man was responsible for the fight and left the scene.
