LINCOLN -- An April 19th attempted shooting case may have been solved, after the arrest of a 26-year-old Lincoln man. Jerome Shackelford was identified as the suspect in the April 19th incident outside of Oasis Barber Shop near 22nd and "O" Street, where a 29-year-old man was leaving and confronted by three men. One of them fired four shots, as the victim got into his sister's vehicle and drove off. No one was hurt during the shooting. Shackelford was later identified and arrested on suspicion of attempted first-degree assault, shooting into an occupied vehicle and use of a weapon to commit a felony. Police Officer Katie Flood says investigators last Friday morning served a search warrant at Shackelford's home where they found a .380 pistol with the serial numbers worn off. He was also arrested for possession of a defaced fire arm and possession by a prohibitive person.
