Muse's Matt Bellamy Says "The 2nd Law" Will Be "Very Diverse"

Danny ClinchMuse fans can expect the band to explore new creative avenues on their upcoming album, The 2nd Law.  After releasing a two-minute trailer earlier this month that featured some dubstep-flavored music, frontman Matt Bellamy says that the band experiments with a variety of genres on the new album.

“We've tried a bunch of new things, which the trailer gives a glimpse of,” the singer tells BBC Radio 1. “We've basically tried to do what Rage Against the Machine did with hip-hop in the 1990s and take a bit of the electronic world and dubstep and play it with real instruments. There's only one track like that, the rest of it is very, very diverse." Bellamy added that the upcoming album also includes “a really jazzy brass number.”

While The 2nd Law still doesn’t have an official release date, Bellamy says that the band is currently in the studio “putting together the track listing and listening to the final mixes.”
