County Attorney Identifies Lexington Man Killed In Crash



 Authorities have released the name of a Lexington man who was killed when his vehicle was struck by a pickup being chased by a state trooper. Dawson County Attorney Elizabeth Waterman identified the victim as 68-year-old Ruben Maravilla-Cortes, of Lexington. He died Tuesday morning at the scene along U.S. Highway 283 in Lexington.  22-year-old Destry Swartz, of Coats, Kan., was driving the pickup being chased. He and a 17-year-old Lexington boy were not hurt in the collision. Swartz is charged with vehicular homicide while driving drunk and four other charges. Swartz remains in jail Thursday, pending $500,000 bail.
